Sewing is not in my blood. Neither does my mom nor any of my relatives sew. But it is a general trend in India to learn sewing after your highschool. So I enrolled myself for a sewing class. Things didn't work out and I stopped my sewing expedition. Years later , after my graduation and post graduation and working for more than 5 years , the dormant sewing gene suddenly popped up ;-) This time it was a bit of necessity too. I have a special child and I was finding it difficult to get dresses which suits her. So I revived my interest and my loving husband supported me by buying me a new USHA JANOME :-) That was three months back and since then I have been actively involved in sewing , going through blogs for designs , tips etc and now I'm fully into sewing :)).
My Jaaan ( Sweetheart in Hindi :) )
First thing that I did when I got my Jaan was stitch her a nice cover :-) I got the design idea from net ( at that time i didnt have any plans to blog and so didnt note from where I took the design :-()
Here are a few girls / baby dresses that I made :)
This dress I made from an old saree. Its a pavada blouse worn by girls in Kerala (rather South India )
I plan to include patten and sewing method that i adopted in the project so that it will be useful for all :))
